Raiza, a girl from Brazil, and Trenton, a boy from America, met the modern way: by swiping right

on Hinge (a dating app for you older generations) in 2020. From the very beginning the odds were against them, not only were they from opposite parts of the world but the covid pandemic was at its peak. Quarantine was in full force and there weren’t many places open or things to do, but it’s possible that boredom ultimately brought them together.

A few back-and-forth messages later and a first, socially distanced, date was scheduled at Golden Gardens. The date went off without a hitch, and with Raiza’s initial fears that she was meeting up with a weird, strange man from the internet calmed, the rest was history.

Over the course of the past four years Raiza and Trenton created some unforgettable memories, further solidifying their bond to each other. From adventuring across Sicily, to partying on the Las Vegas strip for New Years, each moment brought them closer together. Oh,

and you can’t leave out their most cherished memory, and still current favorite activity, walking their step-dog Jiminy around Green Lake to chase squirrels.

After 3 years of dating Trenton got down on one knee and proposed to Raiza in front of the Eiffel Tower: he’s a pretty romantic guy. With the lights shimmering in the background, a busker and his accordion setting the mood, and maybe a rat or two scurrying beside them, Raiza said yes! The city of love had lived up to its name.

We promise we’re not some bougie couple that does all these amazing things in exotic locations but with-it being Raiza’s home, getting married in Brazil just made sense.

We completely understand that it’s a long way to come and a lot of money to spend but we’d more than love for

you to join us as we say “I do” at our destination wedding in May of 2025. We hope to see you soon!
